ILL 301.8 Characterisation
Poko: Skeletal Necromancer
Project Brief
Visualise, illustrate and design a well-crafted and captivating character, whilst also providing a glimpse of the world in which they live. All elements forming part of this project, including character, world, text, design elements, and parts of the visual development process should ultimately be presented as an unfolding, digital, vertical narrative; momentarily immersing the viewer into an imaginary, but believable world as they scroll from top to bottom.

Design Strategy
In the desolate wasteland of a post-apocalyptic world, where the remnants of civilization crumbled into dust, there exists an arcane being. His name is Poko. Poko is no ordinary necromancer. He was an undead skeleton with a peculiar fondness for tea. His cape created from his mana shows his mana level through their bright colours, pink representing low mana and green when his mana is at its highest levels. His staff which stores his prized tea helps with his magic and summoning of the undead.

The illustrations make use of flat colours with textured highlights and shadows along with outlines. The luminous colours contrast with the dark background to create an eerie mystical atmosphere.
